Wars. Pollution. Natural disasters. The society in the mid-2000's already had plenty to worry about, but it wasn't anything foreseen that brought about the calamity that everyone feared in one way or another. It was nothing more than what become known as a freak accident - a large scale spill of a chemical mutagen that quickly began to spread. All exposed to it began to loose their human identities, transforming both physically and mentally into Remnants, creatures that could only be called beasts.
In a desperate effort to save what remained of the human race, a sterile and sealed-off underground safe-house was constructed in the shape of a large city - mankind's final stronghold, Arcis.
It's been 63 years since then.
Now, not more than 1,000 humans remain. Because of this, the New Children, a new type of life form made from technology and both human and animal DNA, were created, in order to better meet the needs of the small, fragile society. But their conception also brought great controversy into an already troubled safe-hold.
Will Arcis be able to survive? If it collapses, it'll take what's left of humanity with it.

On the surface, the life and heat of summer is beginning to die away in preparation for the upcoming winter. The night approaches earlier every evening, and clouds often hide the blue of the sky and light of the sun. Nevertheless, these few months have their own unique beauty, with these changes creating unique, colorful landscapes and bringing a freshness into the chilled breeze. Life inside the burrow of Arcis remains largely untouched, however, oblivious to the shifting seasons above.

Remnants have been sighted near the Water Vein in the Western District. It's currently unknown how they've managed to make their way into the city, but the area is currently being patrolled by New Child infantry. Use caution if you live in the district or will be spending time nearby.

The center of Arcis' government, and an area filled with labs and other industrial businesses and institutions. It is also the location of Arcis' only hospital and prison. Technology is much more prominent here in this government heavy district, with the moan of electronic humming and the scent of the smoke the vents always work hard to cleanse painting the district's atmosphere.
A mostly casual and comfortable district resembling a small town. Many families populate the crowded neighborhoods, but it's also known for its night-life. Most middle-class citizens reside here.
The most picturesque area in Arcis, the Eastern District is considered the ideal place to live. The well-lit streets are lined with cobblestone and cultivated greenery. While the center of the district resembles a large, elegant city, there are also some licensed farms and fisheries on the outskirts. Most of upper-class citizens reside here.
Arcis' slum, the Southern District is grimy, run-down, and dark, with very few streetlights brightening the subterranean environment and minimal government support. Nonetheless, life goes on here, with the citizens who call the district home just trying to survive day by day. Most low-class citizens reside here.
A large, once-bustling city. The empty, rundown skyscrapers, abandoned homes, and lifeless roads and sidewalks are all nothing but shadows of what they once were. The only beings who reside here now are Remnants. No one really remembers what this city's name was anymore.
A once popular destination filled with smiles and laughter, the rides and shops now stand in disrepair. It's been completely taken over by Remnants, and is said to be one of their most high packed areas.
An abandoned lake that was once a popular fishing and swimming spot. It's now overgrown, with the mist that rises from the water every morning creating a strange beauty. It's a favorite location for a variety of Remnants, though.
A huge, sprawling forest that's thick and overgrown. A dangerous, untamed place that's been untouched by human hands for years, with many Remnants and all manner of creatures roaming it.
A vast expanse of water unlike anything in Arcis. The beach is still beautiful, and despite the chaos elsewhere, the ocean remains steadfast and unchanged.
