Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight Appearance: Sky look like a young teenage boy, despite his actual age. His hair is noticeably odd, being bright neon yellow. He actually really likes it, despite it being a clear sign to others that he is a monster. He lets it grow to about shoulder length with long bangs. He's five foot four inches tall, barely inching out his partner by one. His eye color tends to shift matching the state of mind he is experiencing. Instead of being based of emotion like his partner's is, the amount of calamity in his mind affects his shift. Normally, his eyes are simply blue. When his mind begins to loose focus and his fragile sanity shatters, his eyes shift abruptly to a bright neon yellow like his hair. His eyes actually glow a yellow hue, and the further he falls into insanity the brighter yellow they will light up. His body type is a bit on the thin and scrawny side, as he tends to rely on his abilities to survive. He has retractable fangs as well. He generally wears head phones even when he has run out of batteries for his music player. Skills: Assault Aria: Skylar is able to omit short blasts of sound, with vibrations so powerful it feels like it has physical force. Low pitch sounds will have a blunt impact and are easiest. High pitched sounds have a piercing affect, but require a bit more concentration and a clear mind. In addition to the physical force, each burst is a loud sound that can hurt and even damage hearing. Volume dictates the strength and solidity of each burst. These bursts are stronger the closer you are to Skylar, particularly his mouth, the source of these bursts. The farther away the weaker the bursts get. They only have a short to medium range at max. At long distances they will barely have any feeling at all. Chorus of Calamity: Skylar's throat has been altered so that he can create multiple voices at the same time. Making it sound like multiple people are speaking and he is even able to say different things with each voice at different volumes and pitches. While dancing feverishly between the lines sanity and madness, he discovered a special song with his various voices. By straining the maximum amount of voices at specific ranges and volumes, he is able to omit a specific sound. This sound is nearly indescribable. It sounds different to every set of ears that has the misfortune to be within range of its sound. The song has a strange magical power to drive people insane. The effects are not instant and affect each person differently. However, everyone who can hear it will at least feel some sort of discomfort. Some will fully fall into madness and lose themselves entirely, while others may only feel it become incredibly difficult to focus on even important life and death matters. Others may find themselves lost in vivid nightmares. Skylar is physically capable of continually omitting this sound, however he must stop moving and do nothing else in order to perform perfectly. The longer you are exposed to this sound, the worse off its affects will be as it continuously wears down your mental barriers, and in extreme cases it can be permanent. However, Skylar himself is not immune to the songs effects. His already fragile sanity also is prey to the affects of The Chorus of Calamity, and so he will only use it as a last resort. Origin:: Was scratched by a remnant, as was his girlfriend Summary: A broken man, who's fragile sanity desperately clings to what's left of his humanity because of his love for her. Relationships: Ali - His former girlfriend (while they were human), and now the sole object of his affections. However, he has not acted on these feelings of longing because the danger he poses to everyone around him. Its sort of a "can't live with, can't live with out" situation. Inventory: A locket, matching his partner's. His has the word 'Sky' etched into it. He generally has a music player and head phones, but doesn't always have batteries for them. Weapon: list your character's weapon here if they have one, characters start with a single slot Peace Maker - An old six shot revolver. It's practically a relic by now, but it killed the first Remnant that infected him and his girl friend all those years ago. It killed the monster that haunts his dreams, so he clings to it like a security blanket. History: Skylar cannot remember much... but there was something. Something very important, that he absolutely had to do right away. If not... it felt like... it felt like if he didn't do this he would just up and die. But what was it? What was he supposed to do? Well ultimately, if he can not remember it, it must not have been all that important. The truth is, he was attacked in his girl friend's home by a Remnant. He desperately fought it off, but he and his girl friend were still infected by it. He had just barely managed to kill it, but has forgotten this fact and vague broken memories of that Remnant still lurks in the deepest corners of his mind. It haunts him still to this day, and will probably continue to haunt him to this day. His transformation was easy on his body, but wreaked havoc on his mind. He became younger, and hasn't aged since. He still looks as fare and handsome as ever, and now his hair is bright and beautiful, but his mind has become frail and he abruptly lapses into insanity. His love of his girl friend was genuine but of what memories stayed with him, he cannot remember the fact that she was his girlfriend specifically. Instead he has this vague sense of importance that he associates with her. She has a calming affect on him and can help him stabilize his sanity. So far he has not ever hurt her with his rampages because of this, and has been trying to keep his lapses of sanity a secret from her. She has not openly witnessed him fully out of control, but has seen him as he struggling. He is currently torn between staying with the girl he loves and leaving to keep her safe from him. He fears that he will hurt her, but also selfishly desires to be near her. Both of these strong feelings come from the same place, his deep sense of love for her. Thus, he is torn and trying to decide on this matter is too much for his fragile sanity. Several times he has separated from her, only to come crawling back or wait for her to find him. Each time he made it seem like an accident, or told her they would meet up later. He struggles each time, trying to decide if he will actually show up. See The Light: Devoted - When he's in control of his own mind, he's dedicated and devoted to his friends and the things that he needs to do. Social Creature - Both and good thing, the good side is that he is generally friendly and outgoing when in a good mood. Caring - Sky can be quite sweet and sensitive. Not overly so, but he was the kind of guy who would remember the little things like favorite drink, birthdays, and things like that. Creative - He's quite creative and intelligent. He can create some beautiful (and terrifying) things. Simple - He doesn't really crave much, just the simple things in life. He never wanted a mansion, just a good family to live with him in his home. Fear The Dark: Social Creature - Both and good thing, the bad side is that he can be needy and easily becomes lonely. He needs other people, to be loved and be with his loved one. It's the end of the world with out her. Mood Swings - Ever since he was turned into a Remnant, his sanity has become weak. His moods shift dramatically and often makes poor decisions as a resilt. Lapse of Sanity - Occasionally it will be as if Sky is not in control of his own actions. He will lash out violently as if a wild Remnant. Indecisive - At crucial moments he can be indecisive, perfering to let things run their course until he his forced to make a decision or a decision is made for him. Stand Alone Complex - Instead of talking things out with his partner, he has decided to take on all of his problems on his own. He perfers to do things on his own and often thinks he's right above others, even those who are older and more respected. Give It To Me: Ali His gun from before he transformed. Safety Music Sleeping in. Get It Away: Losing Control Loneliness Violence Humans and New Children hunting for Remnants indescribably. Wild or Insane or Violent Remnants In My Nightmares: He fears hurting his beloved Ali above all else. Accidentally, or otherwise. The Remnant that first attacks him still haunts his memories, and the fact that he murdered it also seems to have traumatized him to a degree. He fears being captured and killed by... basically everyone. New Children/Humans/Remnants can all potentially want to kill him and Ali for various reasons. That's just the way the world is, and quite frankly its frightening. He fears losing his sanity, and this may be a fear that may soon be realized. In My Dreams: Living happily with the woman he loves. Starting a family (2.5 kids). A small cozy home for his family, and a nice neighborhood to grow up in. He desires to stabilize his fragile mind.
