Search Notes Report 1: I'm 2 weeks old today, so Madam told me that it's time for me to start hunting down #PS113C, the escapee New Child that I was created to seek and capture. I'll be reporting back in frequently with my findings.
(Madam Gray: I want it to be known to all that I am the one writing this journal - I have never taught my New Children to read or write, as is prohibited. He tells me what to write and I do so, so that a record of any information collected so far during his hunt can be recorded. Forcing him to do this also makes it so that he can't slack off - he has to have something to tell me when I ask for another report.)
Report 2: I've been asking around the district for a couple of days now, with no real luck. All I have to go by are the descriptions of #PS113C's appearance and the fact that his animal is a horse. I've been asking around if anyone's seen someone like this, but so far, no one has since the date he fled. During my next search, I may go down to the Southern District. Since he's likely in hiding, perhaps he's been spending time in more underground, secluded areas.
Report 3: Still nothing yet...but I'll keep looking. Don't worry - I'll win your pride back, Madam! (Madam Gray: Useless New Child, all that money I spent on him better have been worth it.)
Report 4: I think I've found something! A few of the people I talked to today seemed to recognize who I was talking about when I gave the description, and they told me more after I bribed them with the money Madam gave me for the search. Apparently, he was around the area not long ago, and one of them said that he was calling himself "Abel", what does that mean, Madam? (Madam Gray: I told him that it didn't matter and that he should get back on track) Err...anyway, most of the people who recognized him were merchants or business men of some sort, or at least, they liked to call themselves that - they seemed more like street bums or underground traders. I didn't really enjoy talking to them, but at least it seems like I'm finally getting somewhere! It seems like he's been purchasing a lot of supplies recently. I wonder what he needs them all for?
Report 5: The only stories I've been hearing are similar to the ones I've reported last time as I continue combing through some seedy areas. I found out what his name means, though! I saw a couple of people with books - they looked smart, so I asked them what the "Abel" meant, and they said it was from a story in an ancient, surface book called the Bible. In the story, the man named Abel was killed by a man named Cain. Since I'm hunting him down, I've decided that I should be called Cain! That's alright, isn't it, Madam? (Madam Gray: I didn't really answer him. I don't care whether he gives himself a fake name or not as long as he serves his purpose.)
U...umm...anyway, I'll keep searching. It was odd, though, several of them asked why I was looking for him. They said that he seemed like good man, and was better mannered than the customers they usually have. ...But that doesn't really matter for my purposes, I suppose. He can't be forgiven for what he's caused me and Madam!
Report 6: When I started bribing some seedy traders and gossips again, this time I heard something interesting! Apparently "Abel" was going to escape to the Surface! Is that where he is now? Is that I can't find him and why no one has seen him recently? I guess I should start trying to find a way out if I'm going to find him.
Report 7: Acting on rumors of a high amount of Remnant activity near the watervein, I visited the area, seeing if I could get out the same way they got in. And sure enough, I managed to find a rough, freshly dug tunnel - I think it leads to the surface! I had to take out a couple of Remnants, though - it was my first real taste of battle, aside from a couple of aloof brutes I came across while looking for info. If I go to the Surface, there'll be lots more Remnants...won't there? But will I get to see the sky, too? One of my clients told me about it! I - (Madam Gray: I ordered him to stop rambling.)
S...sorry, Madam. Tomorrow I'll go through the tunnel and hunt him down - I won't come back until I've avenged your pride. He'll regret defying you! I won't let you down, I promise!
