occ- No offense, but getting tired of the auto hits. In any situation, you should consider an auto hit to a man's crotch to be in bad form.
Abel stared calmly into her eyes, as she began to move her leg. He made sure he held neither hatred, nor fear in his expression. Though he couldn't keep smiling at her at this point in the fight.
Did she really think that he, a man, would not know a man's greatest weak spot? As she moved her leg downwards towards it, it was obvious that she was putting her knee in a perfect position to knee him in the groin. Logic dictated that if she was doing that, she was planning to do attack him there. Knowing what she was trying to do he didn't not simply lie there doing nothing.
He quickly sprang into action as well, using his ab muscles to pull his lower body up while his upper body was still pinned down by her arm. He slammed his leg up and around as he did this, aiming a kick at her side as hard as he could in the awkward position.
This was an attack, but the main purpose of this action was to dodge her attack. Doing this he had brought his vital lower body up and turned it away slightly. Her knee ended up below his crotch, in this position it ended up hitting him along his butt and thigh. It was still painful, but worlds less painful than it would have been if she had hit him in the crotch.
His knee and thigh would have collided with her side in this exchange if things went right, but because he was still awkwardly pinned by the throat, he could upon his full potential of power in this attack.
After the attempted exchange she dropped her knife, and skillfully caught it with her other hand. Somehow she also broke out of his incredible grip with out even seeming phased by his attempt to crush the flesh around her wrist bones, she must have been stronger than he thought. She also managed to roll away from him, putting her out side of his grip range.
This was bad for Abel, as now he could not easily grab her arms before she could put speed and momentum behind them, making them exponentially more dangerous.
As she rolled away, he quickly sat up, but as she quickly stood up he remained seated. He rested his elbow in one hand, and his chin in the other and sighed. What was the point of all this? A New Child fighting a New Child for the sake of their masters? It made him sick inside. She seemed to have gotten up too fast, because she immediately fell back onto one knee causing the snow to make some alarming sounds.
He stayed sittings, ready to spring up into action again. The ice was good for his backside, which had received a strong hit, but mainly he was just too sick of all of this.
"Hmm... that sounds bad... what are you going to do? Relentlessly try to take me in and get buried here? You know, if you just never mention me, they wouldn't even ask," He said in a bored tone. He was pretty sure no one knew about him, he wasn't all that special and hadn't done anything worth having a soldier sent after him. Not yet. No one should even know that he had escaped out here, how could they?

As the ice shelf that she stood on began to slide and drift faster and faster every second, Adia decided to act. She didn’t feel much pain, so she should have been in a good enough condition to keep fighting. She lunged forwards and reached up with right arm to grab onto the edge of the broken ice that was become more exposed; but when she tried to grip it, her fingers refused to move, not only that, but the knee she landed on didn't seem to want to work either.
When she looked down at her knee, she saw that she was bleeding quite heavily. Her nerves had frozen, and so she could barely feel a thing; and, from the looks of things, she was actually seriously injured. She strugled to try and get off of the ice block that was just about to plummit down the snow-covered mountain. In last desparate attempt to save herself, she cried out, “Help!” and made one final leap upwards with her good leg towards the other new child.

The ice seemed to be crumbling a bit, all around them here and there. Seeing her struggle tugged at his heart strings. He was still weary of her, though and didn't know if he could help her and still keep himself safe. He stood up from his sitting position and dusted some snow off him.
She suddenly cried out for help and desperately dove towards him. Despite being a soldier, despite being his enemy, he wanted to trust her. Even if it might be his undoing.
He took some hurried steps towards her, but as he took his steps the ice beneath them began to crack. He stumbled himself, but with his great balance he was able to keep from falling and instead dove towards her as well.
If he could just reach her, and get a grip on her... First, he reached out to try and grab her and pull her close with his left, but with his right hand he also reached out seeking her knife wielding arm, to grab her by the wrist again. He needed to secure the knife, to be absolutely safe.

Adia whimpered slightly as she closed her eyes, not knowing if the other new child would be the better of the two of them, and save her. She truthfully doubted that he would, especially after what had just happened between them; and she closed her eyes tight, afraid to watch what almost certainly would have been her death coming to her. For a moment, she felt herself in free-fall, and in that split-second, she was back again.
Back to that dream, in a place she couldn’t understand. This place of unknown time and space was so surreal visually and emotionally, there were no words to describe. The quick daydream ended swiftly though as she was warped back into reality by the pull of the other’s hand. What had shocked her more was that he had done so while she was still weilding her would be murder weapon.
As she felt herself hanging from him, she sheathed the obsidian dagger in a sheath on her waist. “I can’t keep fighting him now,” she thought, “I can be pretty cold and selfish at times, but I’m not going to betray an act like this.” As she looked up towards him, she took a few deep breaths of relief, and calmed herself down. “Thank you,” she said in a shallow, exhausted voice, still panting.

His breath had become heavy, more from the fear and rush of it all, than from the physical activity. Each breath was visible in the cold and rose up into air.
He was glad to see she put her weapon away. He felt his heart sink, suddenly released of the stress that was weighing heavily on him.
He smiled again and nodded to her when she thanked him.
The ice seemed to settle, down a bit. He held onto her tightly, and felt around the ice he was resting against. It was slippery and it would be easy to slip down with her. He had to be careful as he lifted her up. Thankfully he could rely on his strength to make up for the lack of footing. He pulled her up so he could get a hold of her with his other hand. From there he had an easier time getting her back onto solid ground.
A lot of things had been said. A lot of things had been done.
To be honest he didn't know what would happen next.

As he let her down, she fell back and sat in the snow. “Thanks again for saving me,” she said to him, and then looked down to her arm and knee, “I think you broke me…” she then said as she took in deep breaths. As she sat there she looked up at him, wondering who could have been so noble to save their attacker like that. “What’s your name?” she asked him, “If you have one, that is…”
While she waited for a response, she looked at her right hand and tried to flex and move her fingers around; they were moving, but not much. She pulled her right sleeve off, and held her arm close to her chest and then checked on her knee to make sure the bleeding had stopped; it did, but the damage looked pretty bad still; at least she could move her foot around, so it wasn’t as badly injured as her arm.

"Eh heh," He said... that's right, he said. He nervously tried to cover up his guilt by trying to make it sound like he was chuckling. He made the throat noises quietly enough so that one would be left wonder if they were words or actual chuckling.
"You didn't leave me much choice," He quickly added in response to her quip about her injuries. He felt guilty, and it was regretful, but he had known what he was doing and what the result could have been, at the time. He did not have the right to apologize or ask for forgiveness.
"I never told you? How rude of me..." He responded as she asked him his name.
"My name is Abel," He said pleasantly, sitting in the snow as well. He had about as much as he could take of the cold, but really he was sore enough to need it.
"...did you introduce yourself?" He added, recalling only the events of the fight in his recent memory.

Adia looked up at him as he asked her name, and shook her head, “No,” she said, “I haven’t; my name is Adia.” She then slowly got up, trying to keep her weight off of her bad leg as she moved towards him slightly. She looked out over the mount range, and beyond; the snowstorm was beginning to clear away, and she could see the horizon, and knew that Arcis wasn’t too much further.
“I can’t go back… not yet,” she thought to herself, “I’ll be in big trouble if I don’t come back with some kind of success… but they won’t kill me… I won’t last out here.” She started moving forwards, headed towards a path that lead down the mountain, “I have to go back,” she said, “I’m in too bad a shape to have any success, and I’ll likely die out here.” After she said that, she stopped, and turned back, “Can you help me?” she asked Abel, “You don’t have to go all the way to the city, but I don’t know if I’ll even get down and out of the mountains on my own.”

"Of course," he said standing up and dusting himself off again, He didn't want to bother her, but he felt compelled to ask.
"You know... you don't have to go back. It's not so difficult once you get used to it out here... food isn't so hard to find really," He said as he walked closer to her.
"A lot of things that are trying to eat you, you can pretty much eat back... and if you're going to be sent out here anyway..." He started, but then wondered if he was going on too much. He moved to the side of her injured leg, and then bent down slightly, offer his shoulder to her and slipping his arm around behind her waist. He didn't quite wrap his arm around her just yet, waiting for her to make first contact.
"You could be free... and I can help you," He finally finished saying what he had to say. It was hard to still talk to her like this, but he fought through still smiling. He had to say it. It was the least he could do for her and he did genuinely want to help her, but he couldn't force her to be saved. Maybe she simply did not need to be saved.

Adia sighed a little as she leaned against his shoulder, wrapping her good arm around his neck, though this time, it was slightly less of hostile move; she didn’t even need to listen to him to know that he was still trying to convince her to not go back to the city at all. “Thanks,” she said in the middle of his speech as he held her up.
She looked at him as they walked and stared blankly, but sarcastically at him. When he finished she chuckled a little, “So are you getting lonely out here or something, Abel?” she told him, “As much as you need the company, I actually do prefer to have a master, and obey orders. In addition, while I’m sure you’re the most specialized medical care provider in the whole wasteland, I’m pretty sure you’re not actually a doctor, and I’m pretty sure my arm is just short of totally crushed.”
“If I get sent out here again,” she told him, “I’d gladly come out here to see you; but I don’t think that will happen. The more likely scenario is that I go back, see my master, get a beating of some sort before being sent off to the hospital, and never be allowed outside of Arcis again. Not to mention… I’d probably be confined to the military zoned buildings for the rest of my life to do things like clean bathrooms and do laundry. I know it doesn’t sound like the best plan… but I’ll still have a master, and I’ll get to keep my arm.”

It was his turn to listen, and he did. She did have a point.
"I guess you've made up your mind. I honestly hope things go the way you say..." He then turned away from her to look to the path ahead. He began to walk along the path carefully, and slow enough for her to keep up comfortably.
"Except... I hope we do get to meet again," He added, looking back to her smiling wider, but only for a moment. Afterward, he returned to his attention to the treacherous mountain path.
"Actually you should know... I do have friends out here. They are Remnants... but unlike the kind you hear about in the city. They're actually quite friendly... and a little cute," He explained, kinda just rambling on.
"Two children, with bright neon yellow hair," He described them.
"I'd appreciate it if you didn't kill them if you see em in the future," He said with a chuckle.
"Oh, before I forget... I'm... half horse... and if you think you can ride in your condition it might be easier for me to give you a lift," He quickly added as it came to mind.

“I’ll try not to,” Adia said, “But if I do run across them, and I do get orders for them specifically, I’m not going to go against my master. The best thing for them would be to stay as far away from the city, and me, as physically possible.”
After listening to his offer of giving her a ride, she thought for a moment, and then looked at him and nodded, “Yea… but… I’ve never ridden before, so… don’t let me-” she said, but then stopped mid-sentence.
She pointed out ahead of them on the path to what looked like a humanoid figure approaching them very slowly, “There’s some-one up there. And he reeks of remnant flesh; which is… far more strong than it should be.”
Ahead of them, the man kept walking on; his arms were wrapped around his chest, hugging himself tightly, probably from the cold. He wore a military uniform with a flag that was not Arcis’s. Despite this oddity, Adia smiled, ”He’s mine,” she said as she moved off of Abel’s support and drew her knife.

He nodded as she responded, he knew she would do as she must as she had before.
There was much he wanted to talk to her about, but his thoughts suddenly went blank when he heard her point out the approach of a Remnant.
She moved ahead, snapping him out of his daze.
"W-wait it might be friendly..." He called out after her, though he knew it probably wasn't.
He walked forward to stand beside her, but not too close that he would be in her way.
"Hello! Nice weather we're having!" He called out, projecting his voice so the man (or monster) could hear him. He did not call out to every Remnant that he came across... just the human ones. He had been forced to fight for his life several times, because of it. Many times he would just deal enough damage to distract or slow down the Remnant, and use that as an opportunity to make his escape.
Other times, he had fought just enough to teach these creatures that he was not an easy meal. The Remnants were a lot like animals, as they mostly relied on instincts. Some were just plain mindless or insane, but many only attacked to feed. If you taught them that you stood higher on the food chain, then they would retreat.

Adia miraculously recovered from her previous injuries, or at least she did in her own mind; and ran up to the side of the remnant, thrusting the knife out towards it threateningly, “Say your prayers, remnant!” she said, giving it a last chance to stop her attack.
The remnant completely ignored her; it kept walking, and her ears twitched as she heard it whispering to itself. She stared blankly at it as it walked on by and called out to it, “Soldier!” The remnant continued to ignore her, and she then walked up towards it, lowering her weapon.
She went to put her hand on his shoulder to try and stop him, but her hand slipped right through him like he wasn’t even there. Her gaze widened as she stared blankly at him. She decided to try and listen to what it was muttering on about, and got up close to it to listen. “They’re here… they, the, they’re here, and and th the people… the people will be safe in the city, yes… th tho thos, those animals, monsters beasts, they found us…” the remnant went on and on.
Adia looked over to Abel and then back to the remnant and stepped right in front of it, “Sir, what are you talking about, who’s here?” she asked him. The remnant stopped and looked up at her; his face had the most terrified expression, literally frozen into it. Her heart jumped for a second, as suddenly the remnant was corporeal and put his hands on her shirt collar, as if holding on for dear life.
“The monsters…” it said, “They’re in the city… they’re here. We’re all gonna die…” Adia pulled its hands off of her as she looked down the path; in the trees and around it, and all through it were more of… them.

Abel didn't understand what he was seeing. It had to be some kind of trick... It couldn't be... weren't ghosts just things of myths and legend?
From its scent, it was clearly remnant. Whatever it was, there were more pressing matters to deal with.
Remnants, and many of them. What was the reason for this mass migration? He couldn't answer, but whatever the reason, it didn't change the fact that they were here and approaching fast.
"Maybe they're friendly," he said again moving up to be besides her again.
He cracked his neck a bit and prepared for the worst. His body was in a bit of a rough condition. She had put a few good hits into him, and even his great stamina was being tested by today's events.
There was something odd about these Remnants. Something very odd. It was like nothing he had ever experienced, in his time in the wastes. He didn't know if he should run, fight, or offer them tea.
Well he was all out of tea at the moment, so at least that was decided.
