Canon?: General Summary: A girl who acts innocent and sweet to other humans, but can be mercilessly brutal to opponents or New Children. Relationships: "Amaranth": - friend, one sided romance - an Architect, and a man who she is both close to and madly in love with, though he somehow remains completely oblivious to the latter fact Inventory: Like most of the government's scientists, she carries around a research notepad. Reserved Weapon: She carries a chakram like weapon with her at all times - a throwing disk that returns to her after thrown like a boomerang. When thrown, blades extend from the sign, and inject poison into the target if the manage to break skin. She developed and designed it herself. History: Born into a relatively wealthy family inside Arcis' Northern District, she received a good education, showing interest in the sciences from a young age. Her mother passed when she was just young, but she grew up close to her researcher father. Eventually, she reached her goal of becoming a scientist as well at the age of 16, joining the lab where he also worked. With her somewhat shy personality, though, she didn't quite fit in there, though a peculiar 18 year old boy, going under the title of Amaranth, took her under his wing. He was her only real companion aside from her father, and she ended up becoming too attached to him for her own good. When the New Child project was first proposed, she was interested but skeptical. Never making into the role of Architect, unlike Amaranth and her father, who both quickly received a slot in the project. Because of this, it didn't effect her right away. At least, not until tragedy came. The New Child specimens were unruly and unpredictable. One of the first creations attacked it's makers in a rampage during a research session. Both Amaranth and her father were present, and they, along with nearly everyone else in the room at the time, were sent to the Hospital with major injuries - an incident that sent Shakaya nearly into cold shock as she was told that the only two people she loved might lose their lives to the actions of a crazed New Child. She grew an absolute, fiery hatred for the New Children that date. Unable to handle her rage, her mental wellbeing, which had always been somewhat fragile, began to slip further. The New Child research specimen who'd attacked died 'mysteriously' just a few days later. No one ever really knew what happened to it except for Shakaya, the girl having slipped a bit of poison that she'd concocted herself into its water supply. She was amazed at the satisfaction she felt as the death was announced. Inspired by the poison she'd successfully utilized, and almost drunk with the sensation and satisfaction with having power over life and death, she began to sink into what could almost be considered madness, changing from a general scientist into a weapons specialist as she worked to perfect her poison and find other methods of physical power. Meanwhile, she spent the months that Amaranth and her father were in the hospital visiting them everyday with desperate, teary eyes, as if she hadn't changed at all. In the end, Amaranth slowly recovered. Her father didn't. The loss of her father was the last step that sent the girl somewhere she could never recover from. Consumed by her hatred, she latched completely on to Amaranth, the one person she had left, to the point of it being unhealthy, and continued to focus on her weapons research. Eventually, thanks to her knowledge with weapons, and her cold fearlessness towards New Children, she was asked to become a General for the New Child infantry. She accepted, deciding that holding an army of them under her thumb was the best revenge that she could ask for. She is a terrifyingly ruthless General to both her squad and her opponents.
